About

The Story of How the Kettle Bar Came to Be ...

I grew up in a small town called Moores Hill, IN. When I was not working on the farm, I enjoyed swimming, weight training, cycling and running. I loved a great combination of cardio, circuit training, and functional strength to work on the farm. I competed in triathlons before they were cool.

After college, I found my life's passion teaching high school Anatomy and Physiology and coaching sports. I coached track, swimming, strength training, and wrestling. For as much as I loved playing sports the joy of coaching and mentoring young people took the cake. Later I would have the privilege of coaching my two sons through their high school wrestling years and watching them grow into lifelong athletes themselves. Throughout my professional life, I continued to consistently work out.

In 2010, I came out of my third neck fusion leaving me fused from C4-C7 vertebra.  Finally, a stabilized neck!  But not so fast.  The last fusion left me with a condition known as C5-Palsy.  Essentially the C5 nerve was damaged and I lost motor function in my left shoulder, peck, and bicep.  After only a few days after the surgery I had no function in my left arm.  I began physical therapy and with a brain that never sleeps when it comes to dreaming of new ways to push the body. I invented a new form of exercise that worked to help rehab my C-5 Palsy I later trademarked it as Finishing.

Along with Finishing, I invented the piece of equipment used to perform Finishing we named The Finisher.  My strength came back and my excitement grew for what Finishing and The Finisher were doing for my  C5 recovery, but also for my overall level of strength and conditioning.  Soon, I began building and producing more Finishers and even teaching classes and selling units to local gyms and physical therapy departments.

Taking with I learned through this process and a long patent application rollercoaster, the Kettle Bar was born.

The Kettle Bar is a perfect size and offers three planes of motion. The Kettle Bar offers functional fitness at a dynamic pace which is great for those looking to live strong and healthy. The Kettle Bar is also small and portable which makes it a great piece for a home gym.

As with everything I do in life, I believe the Kettle Bar is a tool for you to become a better you. If you have any questions or just want to drop us a line please reach out to us. In the meantime we hope you enjoy your Kettle Bar and appreciate your commitment to change.

Sincerely,
Merrill Hutchinson
